Free Meals for Kids

California schools now offer both Breakfast and Lunch at NO-COST to students. This has created some exciting changes for us as we now align our school menus with the National School Lunch Program. We have partnered with Rincon Valley Schools to provide this service to our students. Luckily, there is very little you will have to do. The following link will also be provided in our First Day Packets. You do not have to fill it out twice, however, filling out the application online ensure confidentiality.

  • Go to www.myschoolapps.com
  • Enter zip code 95405 and choose Rincon Valley USD.
  • After about the fifth page, while adding your student’s information, parents will be able to choose the exact school from a drop-down list (Kenwood School).

Just remind your student that they will be asked if they want a lunch each morning. The classroom teachers will ask for a show of hands, which students will be getting lunch and will then notify the office. Students electing to get a breakfast may do so without notifying the teacher. All they need to do is go to the cafeteria and let Mrs. Stenerson know they are getting a breakfast.

Meals are based on a nutritional set of ingredients, ensuring that students do not get too much sodium, sugar, or fat, while offering a small variety of healthy choices including whole grains, fruit and vegetables. Menus will be sent home monthly and online at our school website here, under the Calendars tab, so that you and your family can review the meals and decide to either bring snack or lunch from home or receive one from school.
